Some time ago I bought this wood model kit in 1/87 scale, the "Gol"Stavechurch made by Dusek.
The kit has lots of thin parts which had a tendency to warp from the moist in the PVA glue I used, and sometimes the fit wasn`t the best, but after a good few evenings I had the construction done and the church ready to paint.
It is an impressive model and I was tempted to leave it unpainted, but in the end I decided to put it in a diorama.
I did some small modifications to it and used my imagination a bit, i.e mixing runes and crosses. On each side of the church is two sacred stones, sat up long time before the site was chosen for a church. The church has 3 entrances, each with a rune above.
One has the Life rune ,one has the rune for Sun/Victory and the last has a Death rune.
The pathways leading to each door is lined with rocks, lighter color to the "Sun" and "Life" door and dark rocks to the "Death" door, which is also the side with a forest.
On the wall above the sun entrance I ve painted the Vegvisir rune.
The size of it is W 47cm x L 41 x H 36cm.
